Q Center’s LGBTQ Senior Community program is located at the Mississippi site, and is patterned, cut and tailored specifically for those who have lived some decades longer than others. The name of the program is *eRa* : encouraging Respect for aging.
*eRa*s mission is to address the concerns and needs that arise at this time of our lives; providing information, education and social events for those members of our community who have lived through earlier times of LGBTQ history and have been foundation stones for the community we have become.

Susan Kocen, Senior Community Coordinator
Originally from London, England, by way of Melbourne, Australia, Susan has lived in the Pacific NW for the last 14 years, working both in private practice and for the homeless, mentally diverse population of downtown Portland. Originally, and still, an artist she comes to Q Center with a background in design, alternative healthcare, therapy, large and small group facilitation, and an MA major in Gerontology. Susan’s interests in the field of aging include education, health issues, legal concerns, social and relationship needs, and the creativity and value of the multi-dimensional processes inherent to aging. Inspired to bring her inter-personal, community and organizational skills to work with our LGBTQ elders Susan is thrilled to be part of Q Center team.
