On December 18, 2014, convened by Basic Rights Oregon, the Q Center Interim Board held our first meeting in the Q Center Library. We learned that Q Center was in crisis, needed our help, and wouldn’t survive without an influx of community support.

Since then we have worked diligently to understand what has gone wrong at Q Center, financially, socially, and institutionally. Along the way we have discovered and been inspired by the many things that are also going right. This report is our FIRST ATTEMPT at communicating what has happened, and what is next, for Portland’s LGBTQ community center.

None of us can pretend to know what the next six months will bring for Q Center. As an interim board we are committed to gathering as much perspective and information from our community as we can; reporting it back transparently in a variety of ways (e.g., survey reports, community conversations, and town halls); and listening and acting on the community feedback and support that we receive.

Starting today, we will collectively chart the future of Q Center. QCenterReportFINAL
