Q Patrol’s ongoing work is being done to develop infrastructure, volunteer training, and marketing outreach.  As a community-run endeavor, your support and contributions make for a more effective and successful Q Patrol–we want your input!

In the current Q Patrol model, interested parties first sign-up as Q Center volunteers. They will then receive training from the Office of Neighborhood Involvement and are required to sign an oath of conduct that precludes such things as the carrying of weapons or fighting back. The patrols consist of no fewer than five people, who check in with a liaison police officer at the beginning and end of each shift and are also given a direct line to the police should they see any red flags.

In the upcoming months, the patrol will be out every Saturday night, walking a triangle through downtown that passes by the Stark Street and Old Town queer bars.
