"Queer Aperture's" Jeffrey Horvitz

My current project “Queer Aperture” grew out of a photo show I did at Q Center called “STANDOUT” in which I showcased high-profile people in the LGBTQ community.

I plan to develop “Queer Aperture” as a means of showing all the stripes and colors of who we are, using lightness and humor. From the provocative and flamboyant to the guy or gal next door, I want to show all aspects of our community. I will include a Q&A with my featured guests to deepen our view of our diversity and commonality.

As a parent of two boys, I was always a little different (let’s say a lot different) from most soccer moms and PTA parents. I was able to show people not familiar with gay people just by meeting a token gay person that while we do have our differences, we can build bridges.
