Volunteering at Q Center

I'm a Q Center VolunteerWe are lucky to have the most wonderful volunteers at Q Center. They bring such passion and love for the LGBTQ community to their volunteer positions. It’s with their help that we are able to offer such a diverse range of relevant programming and to also keep things running smoothly 7 days a week. We truly could not operate Q Center without our volunteers.

At Q Center we offer a number of multi-generational programs and services for the LGBTQ community. We are committed to providing a safe space to support and celebrate LGBTQ diversity, visibility and community building and our volunteers are a huge part of our success in accomplishing this.

There are many reasons why people want to volunteer at Q Center. Whether it is to give back to community, make new friends or just to give of themselves to a higher cause, our volunteers make a huge impact in our community. I think that Ron, one of our long time weekend volunteers, sums it up in a lovely way:

“I am thrilled to donate my time. I have been volunteering since 2010. I look forward to my shifts and tasks no matter how small of a contribution it may be as I am confident it is making a difference. I can’t tell you how many people I have come across who I now have connections with and hold dear to my heart. After finishing my shifts, I feel a sense of contentment. Volunteering has made me a better person!”

This year Q Center is celebrating our 10th birthday. As we look to the future, one of the things we are focusing on is our volunteer program and how we can improve it. To that end, we have just relaunched our volunteer program with an improved application process, more extensive training along with a number of changes that were identified in an extensive volunteer survey that provided invaluable feedback.

As we move forward, we are wanting to expand our volunteer base. If you would like to volunteer with Q Center, we would love to hear from you. Please go to this LINK to start the process.

Thank you!
