Instagram's following sorting logic
I don't understand how the "following" sorting works at all. It's definitely not time-based, but it doesn't seem completely random either.
I've logged into the same profile several times, and the list is slightly different each time. Is this the same for everyone? Is there any logic at all?

Follower lists are no longer sorted strictly by time or any fixed logic. Therefore, it's completely normal to visit the same profile and see slightly different ordering. Because it's difficult to determine this manually, many are switching to services like recently-followed.com which help track and see trends in a more structured way, without having to manually compare lists each time.
