Welcome to Q Community

 

Q Community is an online extension of Q Center, a place to connect, share, ask for help, offer support, and build community beyond our walls.

​

Community isn't only something that happens at an event or inside a building. It happens when someone helps you find a room to rent, tells you about a job opening, gives you something they no longer need, offers you a safe place to land for a night, answers a question about your new city, or simply says, “Hey, I'll come with you.”

That's what Q Community is here to make possible.

Our community groups provide spaces where LGBTQ+ people throughout Portland and the surrounding region can connect directly with one another around everyday needs, opportunities, resources, and relationships.

Whether you're looking for housing, employment, a short-term place to stay, free items, local advice, friendship, or simply a stronger connection to Portland's LGBTQ+ community, there's a place for you here.

Current groups include:

• Q Buy Nothing - Give away what you no longer need and find things you can use, completely free.

• Q Community Job Board - Find and share jobs, freelance opportunities, odd jobs, gigs, and other paid work.

• Q Community Housing - Connect with people offering or seeking rooms, rentals, roommates, sublets, and other housing opportunities.

• Q Community Couch Surfing - Find or offer a free, very short-term place to stay when someone needs somewhere to land.

• Q New to Portland - Ask questions, share local knowledge, and help people who are new to the Portland area find their way into community.

• Q Social & Connections - Make friends, find people who share your interests, start a group, or simply find someone to do something with.

These spaces are built around a simple idea: our community already has an enormous amount of knowledge, generosity, experience, and connection. Q Community gives us another way to share it with one another.

You don't have to be in crisis to ask for help. You don't have to have money to have something valuable to offer. And you don't have to walk through Q Center's doors to begin finding community here.

Join the groups that matter to you. Post when you need something. Respond when you can help. Introduce yourself. Make connections.
