Q New to Portland is a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ people who are new to the Portland area, preparing to move here, or simply trying to find their place in the community.
Moving to a new city can be exciting, overwhelming, lonely, or all three at once. Whether you came to Portland for work, school, family, community, a fresh start, or because you were looking for a place where you could feel safer and more supported, you don't have to figure everything out on your own.
Use this group to ask questions, meet people, share advice, and learn how to navigate life in Portland and the surrounding area. Ask about neighborhoods, public transit, healthcare, LGBTQ+-affirming providers, local businesses, community organizations, recreation, nightlife, making friends, getting involved, Oregon resources, or simply where to begin.
Longtime Portlanders and community members are encouraged to join too. Share what you know, recommend your favorite places and resources, answer questions, and help our newest neighbors feel a little more at home.
