Q Center Gender Affirming Closet

Clothing, toiletries, and affirming essentials available with dignity and care:

Q Center’s Gender Affirming Closet is a free community resource where people can donate gently used clothing and new essential items, and where community members can access what they need at no cost.

This space exists to support gender identity, self-expression, confidence, and care. For many people, access to affirming clothing and basic personal items can make a meaningful difference in how safe, comfortable, and seen they feel in their daily lives.

Whether someone is exploring their identity, transitioning, rebuilding, or simply in need of support, the Gender Affirming Closet is here to help remove barriers and make affirmation more accessible.

What the Gender Affirming Closet Offers:

The Gender Affirming Closet provides free access to items that can support identity, presentation, hygiene, and everyday well-being.

Available items may include:

  • gently used clothing

  • shoes

  • jackets and outerwear

  • bags and accessories

  • jewelry

  • professional or interview attire

  • wigs

  • mirrors

  • hair brushes and combs

  • menstrual supplies

  • basic new toiletries

  • binders, tucking undergarments, padding undergarments, packing undergarments

  • other gender-affirming essentials

Items may vary based on donations and current availability.

Who It Is For:

 

The Gender Affirming Closet is available to community members seeking items that support their gender identity, expression, dignity, and daily care.

This may include people who are:

  • exploring their gender identity

  • transitioning

  • looking for clothing or items that feel more affirming

  • navigating financial hardship

  • rebuilding after instability or major life change

  • in need of free access to basic necessities

Everyone deserves access to items that help them feel more at home in themselves.

How to Access the Closet:

 

Community members are welcome to access the Gender Affirming Closet and take what they need for free.

 

We strive to offer this resource in a way that is grounded in dignity, respect, and mutual care. No one should have to choose between affordability and feeling affirmed in who they are.

How to Donate:

 

The Gender Affirming Closet is made possible through the generosity of community members who want to help make affirming resources more accessible.

We welcome donations of clean, gently used clothing and accessories, as well as new and unused personal care items and essentials.

We welcome donations such as:

  • clothing of all sizes and styles

  • shoes and outerwear

  • jewelry and accessories

  • purses, bags, and backpacks

  • professional clothing

  • wigs in good condition

  • new hair brushes and combs

  • new mirrors

  • new menstrual supplies

  • new toiletries and personal hygiene items

  • other items that support gender affirmation and everyday care

  • binders, tucking undergarments, padding undergarments, packing undergarments

We especially appreciate donations that reflect a wide range of sizes, styles, bodies, and gender expression.

Donation Guidelines:

 

To help us create a safe, respectful, and useful resource for community members, we ask that donated items be in good condition.

Please donate items that are:

  • clean

  • gently used or new, depending on the item

  • free of stains, damage, or excessive wear

  • ready for immediate use

New and unused items are preferred or required for:

  • toiletries

  • menstrual supplies

  • brushes and combs

  • hygiene items

  • cosmetics or body care products

  • other personal care essentials

What We Cannot Accept:

To protect the health, safety, and dignity of our community, we may not be able to accept:

  • damaged or heavily worn clothing

  • stained or unwashed items

  • used toiletries or hygiene products

  • opened cosmetics or personal care products

  • items in unsafe or unusable condition

If you are unsure whether an item is appropriate to donate, please reach out before dropping it off.
