About the Artist
Keeks
KEEKS (Fka: MAARQUII) is an Arkansas-born, Oregon-raised rapper, singer, dancer, and multimedia artist who channels her southern and northwestern roots, Ballroom scene beginnings, and Black womanhood into her every sound she makes.
Since her debut with genre-defying 2016 EP Heavy Petty, which BandCamp Daily praised for its seamless blend of soulful R&B and club-centric hip-hop, KEEKS has captivated audiences with her commanding stage presence, bold lyrics, and effortless aura.
Her 2018 debut album C.A.B.O., produced with longtime collaborators JVNITOR, further showcased her versatility, earning acclaim from Paper Magazine for its fearless embrace of individual freedom.
She has shared stages with icons like Big Freedia, Doja Cat, and Mykki Blanco, Bby Mutha, and Dodgr, delivering electrifying live performances that cement her as a revelatory star. With her undeniable talent, raw relatability, and ever-evolving artistry, KEEKS continues to redefine boundaries and inspire audiences across genres and mediums.
Her most recent mixtape Gwendolyn is a love letter to feminine rage, raw emotion, and softness. The project reintroduced KEEKS to her audience post transition, even more authentic, and even more unafraid to use her voice as a tool to shake up the status quo.
